Completing Violent Incident Reports

We know that filling out violent incident reports can be a chore but we can not impress upon members enough the importance of filling out these forms. ABC charts or other data collection for the board does not replace the need for completing a Violent Incident Report (VIR). Please include the union when completing the forms, we can't support you if we don't know. Your health and safety are important to us! Please review this little refresher on the process. https://mcusercontent.com/fd92d8e08ce1d6b287b53b308/files/c11a9d30-b5b5-4025-b81e-49b193df952f/How_to_complete_a_AccidentViolent_Incident_Report.pdf

OFL to Host an Education Assembly from Child Care to Post Secondary

The Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL), along with many education unions including OSSTF/FEESO, is hosting an Education Assembly to bring workers, parents, students, community activists, and others together in one forum. The goal is to educate, inspire and activate as an entire community to protect public education from child care to post-secondary. The event is on Saturday, March 27, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. via Zoom. Please see the brief event description and registration information via the link below: Education Assembly: Uniting workers, parents & students from child care to post-secondary through education, inspiration & action.

Upper Grand Employee Assistance Program

If you are finding yourself or a family member or a colleague is needing additional support or resources please refer to the board's employee and family assistance program. This service is free and confidential. The board is not given the names of members who are using the service. It has been a challenging year with COVID and many of us are dealing with other challenges unrelated to COVID. This resource may be of help to members who need it.
