National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Orange Shirt Day, and Truth and Reconciliation Week
September 30, 2021, is the inaugural National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The intent of the day is to ensure public commemoration of the history and legacy of residential schools remains a vital component of the reconciliation process. The day coincides with Orange Shirt Day, which is occurring during Truth and Reconciliation Week – September 27 to October 1, 2021.
OSSTF/FEESO is committed to reconciliation and ensuring that the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools are never forgotten. Members are encouraged to participate and support local and provincial events during Truth and Reconciliation Week.
Members can utilize the OSSTF/FEESO social media, print, and Zoom background images attached as part of their local actions in support of the events planned as part of Truth and Reconciliation Week, Orange Shirt Day, and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
