This is a reminder that this pay will include your benefit deductions for the month of July as per the email sent by OTIP to your Board email. This email was sent from OTIP on August 30, 2023. This will happen again in October. I have copied the email below...please contact them if you have questions. Dear Member, A communication was sent to you from OTIP on August 24, 2023 (Subject: Your premiums have changed) indicating a Retroactive Member Amount. As a 10-month employee, you would have received double deductions in May and June to cover the cost of your benefits coverage over the summer months. OTIP identified that benefit premium deductions were made for the months of May and June only. Deductions for July and August were not made.
What this means to you Since you had benefits coverage over the summer months, you will see deductions in September and October. The amounts you see in the August 24 notice are for your July (Retroactive Member Amount) and September (Member Amount) premiums. If you are actively working in the 2023-24 school year, the payments will be deducted from your September and October pay. If you’re not actively working in the upcoming school year, we will mail an invoice to you to the mailing address that we have on file. You will receive the same email (Subject: Your premiums have changed) at the end of September to inform you of the Retroactive Member Amount for August and the Member Amount for October.
