New Member Engagement Advisory Work Group -Call for Members

The New Member Engagement Advisory Work Group is a permanent advisory body that advises the Provincial Executive on any matters related to new member engagement, such as resources, workshops, outreach, and information and any other matters referred to it by the Provincial Executive. The Provincial Executive is seeking up to eight (8) Members-at-Large, who have been members of OSSTF/FEESO for (8) years or less, to serve on this workgroup for a two-year term. In the past, this workgroup has created relevant content for the provincial website, provided input on social media communications prepared and presented a workshop for local leaders and planned the last New Member Engagement Conference. Interested applicants should submit the attached application form indicating their suitability. The workgroup expects to meet approximately four times per year. While time release, as well as travel costs, for all meetings are paid for by the Provincial Office, applicants should verify with their local president that there are no restrictions for time release for their Bargaining Unit. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all meetings will take place in a virtual setting until further notice. OSSTF/FEESO values the participation of members with different voices from lived experiences. We recognize that the selection of candidates for federation positions from members of equity-seeking groups is an asset. Self-identification of membership in equity seeking group(s) is voluntary.
