Health and Safety News

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development (MLITSD) coordinates workplace safety initiatives and awareness programs each year. The current safety blitz is focused on the education sector with special attention on workplace violence.

MLITSD Inspectors will visit random schools in Ontario to enforce the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations and raise awareness about workplace safety issues. The Inspectors may wish to speak to workers regarding various safety concerns. This is an opportunity to voice your health and safety concerns. There can be no reprisals against employees for reporting health and safety concerns.
